Life is to short

I came home from school..
My mom's attitude wasn't the same.

I let it go.

I overheard my mom and aunt talking about
something being really sad and something about what
about the kids.I thought it was another family divorce.

I let it go.

I kept seeing my moms face and I can't stand her being sad.

I let it go.

I logged into myspace and saw a R.I.P ________ friend update.

I asked who died.

Its was ________'s mom.

my mothers friend.

She has 6 kids oldest being my around my age(16).

the youngest only a few months.

They all have to grow up without their mother.

No child should EVER have to go through that.

I just sat there.Hot tears streaming down my face as
my mother and I stood wordless on the
stairs. I had to turn away.
I cant let anyone see me cry.

she said "take it easy" trying forcefully to stop her voice from breaking.

i went to my room and sat.

cried.

sat there.

cried.

NEW: Mankato woman dies in collision

The Free Press

LAKE CRYSTAL —
A 36-year-old Mankato woman was killed early today when the minivan she was driving crashed head-on with a semi near Lake Crystal. Her name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The State Patrol said the 12:44 a.m. accident happened on Blue Earth County Road 109 when the van spun out of control on an icy patch and was struck by the truck.
Semi driver Robert Fahey, 60, of Sioux Falls, S.D., was uninjured.
A passenger in the van, a 39-year-old Mankato woman, was airlifted to a Rochester hospital with unspecified injuries.

Life is too short. All I can say to anyone and everyone is be thankful for the people you have around you. Many of you may have already heard that, but seriously? When was the last time you told someone you loved them? Do it now.

My condolences goes out to her family and to anyone else whose lost a loved one.

UCLA,GT,GSU,STU? GEE WILLICKERS!

I'm so excited for college man. Like I find myself thinking about high school, and it really isn't how I want it to be. I wish it was really fun. I think we just need more amusement. I find myself growing old in the classroom just sitting there for 50 minutes zoning off into space. We need to live a little. Get a lot more hands on activities while learning. It would make a way better impact on the kids who don't really like school. I love school, but I think I'd love it more if it we had more rallies and did fun stuff. So I can't wait 'til college. I'll be rollin' with the big dogs. Lol just kidding. Anyway a message to all who say school sucks and all that garbage just pull through with it, go to college, get a great paying job. earn an average of 6 figures, and trust me my friend you will be thankful for school. Just thought I'd get that out there. kk peace.

Kachika-Kachika! lights,camera, action!

You know what I really want? I want a video camera. ugh. I hate when something really funny happens and I w ant to replay it but i cant, unless I do it mentally. Well with a video camera I can record it and laugh about as much as I want. Like one day I just want to record someone that has no clue what in world they're saying. Or just those times when someone falls. Oh my gosh. Those make my day. I might sound really mean, but c'mon you know you laugh about it too. So hopefully I can get a Cam this X-mas...(crossing my fingers, well actually only one b/c i heard two fingers is un-lucky.)

There's a Hero. If you look inside your heart.

My heroes are my parents.
My mom and dad have taken care of me for
15 years and I think I'm turning out pretty swell.
They've had to put up with me during my early childhood,
and they have to put up with me now as a young adult.
I can honestly say that we've been through ups and downs,
but My parents were always there for me at the end of the day.
I understand that some people aren't as lucky t have two amazingly
caring parents. Some didn't even get the chance to have one.
So my hearts goes out to those who never got to experience the love
of a parent. I love my parents!

Just an update

Hey everyone just an update. Not much has been going on lately. Well I finally got my iPod to work, so you'll probably see me strolling around the hallways deafened by the highness of the volume. Christmas break is coming up. I'm thinking about a new look and a new style for new years. Uhm and get over this shyness that has been overshadowing my personality for years. I need to break out of this shell. So yeah that's pretty much what's new. At least what I'm willing to share. Oh one more thing. I have a new goal. I have to get to the 4.0 status and remain there. I'm almost there. 3.9!(not trying to brag) Just have to maintain it when and if i get there. That's it..
till next'

JACOB, EDWARD, AND EVERYTHING NICE!

OMG! A couple of friends and I, went to watch "Twilight" and I would have to say that it was the best movie by far. It makes Harry Potter look cheap. Sorry for saying it so bluntly, but twilight is the new Must-See movie. I only read the first book because I want the whole thing to be a surprise. The guy that played Jacob was sooo cute, and so was Edward. Edward is a very interesting character and played his part really well. When he does his twisted, disgusted face mixed with the stern look of a Vampire, it just show's that this boy is something. Jacob? Yeah he was way different then what I mentally pictured him as, he was hot! (small chuckel) Twilight is a 5 star movie, agree with me or not, but that movie was very well put together. I Loooved it!

Turkey Day

My weekend was mmh-iight. I got home on Wednesday, and boy was I happy there was no school the next four days. I mean don't get me wrong, school's cool and I do stay educated, but man, five days a week is too much. Anyway, Thursday was Turkey Day! For some reason I was really into it. I'm usually not, but this thanksgiving, my mom had a little party so there was many people at the house. I was so full afterwards that I couldn't even make it across the kitchen without stopping and taking a quick break. Haha It was really fun. The holidays' are just the most wonderful thing in the world. They make you feel all mushy and gushy inside, and that is so not me. I can't wait till X-mas, even though I probably won't get a lot since our economy is so down the drain. I'll keep hope alive though.Well thats all for now. Peace.

What has the world come to?
Just yesterday I was on a web-site and I was reading a news article about a Tanzanian man that tried to sell his albino wife to some business men who would then sell her to “witchdoctors.” His wife knew she was on the way to being sold, but she really didn’t have any power to even differ with the decision. I also read that these “witchdoctors” believe that albino body parts help with their medicine making. I found this really disturbing and hard to believe. Not only the part about him selling wife, but the witchdoctors. Who are these people and are their heads on straight, because this is some seriously weird, un-human genocidal stuff. Killing albinos to make medicine? Wow! What has the world come to?

GET A FRIKEN JOB!

GET A FREAKIN JOB!! Those are words that my inner self has been throwing at me lately.
All I do is sit around the house and watch my life, or at least what it claims to be, past me by.
I REALLY NEED A JOB, and his summer I plan on finally fulfilling the comment. Only because now I need the money. I'm getting to that age where I can't depend on the 'rents anymore, well actually I think one of these days they'll just refuse to support me and i'll be a sad little girl in a big world. YEAH RIGHT. So anyway I want to work at DQ it would only make sense. It'll be the summertime. I'll be able to drive, I'll be sixteen and home free. Plus ICE CREAM!!yumm.

Im a werido

I have like this weird sickness towards weird things. Everyday after school I ride the bus home, and as you know the seats are made of leather. Well whenever I smell the seats I get an automatic headache and I start going to my depressed-like mode. Another thing is anytime I'm in a dull colored room I can't think straight. It's so weird. Like yellowy and orange colored room kill me. Call me weird or call me Me. IDK what's up with that.

You have to pay to be fat?

Have you heard about the new "fat tax" that's suppose to be issued in January? Well I think its absurd! Some people can't help if they're overweight or not. Some people like being bigger. I don't agree with this because okay, your charging some people for being overweight, but your not charging other when they're anorexic? That's not healthy either is it? No so I'm quite confused at why they'd do something like that.

Sick body of Love

Your hearts what your break
Your minds what you loose
love is tough
like a game with no clues

Your eyes full of tears
Your soul's full of sorrow
loving today
like there is no tomorrow.

With your legs you will walk
away from what hurts
and try to pretend it didn't exist
you heart and your soul you try to convince
but the sick body of love you can never resist.

This is a poem I wrote a while ago. It's not personal so I wrote it for anyone who can relate. Hope you enjoyed it. Oh and don't steal it! Its copyrighted! (By me)

The perfect profession for a profectionist.

I think the perfect job for a profectionist would be making rulers. Yeah, your probably think wow okay Martha your cool, but hear me out. We were in clothing class today and for the last couple of days we been doing lessons to help us sew better. Anyway, today we had to make a ruler that was eight inches long and one inch wide. Well there was a couple of people who were acting like they were about to die if they didn't get the line drawn correctly. (Not going to mention any names.) Then I heard the teacher say:
"Your human. I don't expect your lines to be perfect."
That's when I remembered my cousin Nyajuok telling me that I sometimes act like a profectionist, and then I though huh, making rulers would be an awesome job for someone that's a profectionist. They could sit there and try to make a perfect ruler with perfect lines and number. That's were I got my blog topic. Oh,and no I'm not a profectionist. I learned through experiences in life that everything is not perfect. We also just finish a book in my J-10 (probably the only class I look forward to everyday.) it's called "Night" and I have to say it really opened my eyes up to a whole new world, but I'll write about that in another blog. This book is seriously one of those books that shows you that the world is everything but perfect.

ITS AN INSIDER.

Hey-yo! Okay so this blog is about insiders, which are inside joke between certain people. Its so fun havin' em bcuz it's like something you know and can laugh about that no one knows. The totally random saying are my fav though. For example here's some saying that we say.

"You just got lectised"
"Oh what distance"
"Ladies and Gentlemen the fetus has just been dropped"
<---(aha! im like dyin' of laughter right now) They would be way funnier if you understood them. Here's another insider between me and my sister. Okay so this one time we were in church and this one guy use to go there and my sister thought he was cute. She knows his dad and their like friends so we were standin' there reading the bullitins about the youth group activities when the son (lets call him BOB happened to walk past. Liz was like, "He's cute, im friends with his dad." And just out of nowhere I recited a line from a movie called COMING TO AMERICA, which just so happens to be one of my fav. movies of all time, and I was like: "IF YOU IN GOOD WITH THE FATHER, YOU HOME FREE....HHM-HM...HOME FREE." It was just so funny bcuz i said it at the exact right time, but yeah. So everytime either of us says somebody's cute the other just automatically says that line and it just brings back memories. Aren't inside jokes just so funny?

I bet the whole community of albert lea will never forget this. I wish i could've went but naw, i had volleyball.

Jeans worn in other countries.

Have you ever thought why we americans buy jeans that look as if they've been worn out. You know the ones from Hollister and American eagle and almost any teen clothing store? It was so funny. We were in Mixed Media class talking about making baskets and Mr. Fure mentioned something about a basket looking worn out and he similized it to a pair of jeans from Hollister. Then he told us his theory about worn out jeans.

--->Mr. Fure's Theory.<---
Ripped Jeans are made in other countries and bought for cheap by the people who live there. They're then shipped to the United States ripped up,draped up and full of holes. We buy them here for a higher cost and then wear them out some more.
I though this was a knee-slapper. It was so funny, but then I had one of my dumb moments and thought Hey, maybe that is what happens, but no I understand that it isnt. Ha well thanks for reading children. Peace.

No flippin' clue!

You know how people always ask you,"What do you wanna be when you grow up." Well I have no flippin' clue and it kinda bothers me.I know I'm only in 10th grade, but my high school years are going pretty fast. Its seems like everybody else in my family has their future plans set, but I don't. I guess it's because I change my mind to much. I wanted to be a teacher, but I couldn't stand being in school for the rest of my life. (No offense to anyone else.) I wanted to be a lawyer, but law school would probably be to complicated. Fashion Designer? Nah to much of a hobby to me. So now I'm looking at Business Administration. Yeah I know right. I'll probably change my mind in the next three months. So yeah I think I need help. Ha maybe i should be a psychiatrist.
so til next time. peace

My weekend/homecoming

Okay, so yesterday was our homecoming. It was the Albert Lea Tigers against the Mankato east cougars. The tigers lost 34 to 35. It was kinda sad. I personally think that we should of just kept it as a tie instead of taking the risk of another touchdown during overtime, but what can I do about it? I hardly know anything about football.
Anyway, after school we went to field day, and when I say "we" I mean Nya, Amanda, Jesse and I. It was pretty fun. We went through the obsticle course and all that jazz. After that we went back to my house, and came back to the school to watch the game. Later, after the game we went to the dance. Okay so the decorations were pretty sweet, but as far as music goes? It was not that great. The Dj kept talking and taking up time and he kept playin cheerleading songs or songs you couldnt dance to. If he would of had better songs, I'm pretty sure the dance would of been on and poppin'. Ha anyways on saturday we had to get up early for our volleyball tournament. We only got like three hours of sleep because we came home so late the night before. Our tournament went by kinda swell. We won some and lost some. In the end it was still a pretty wicked weekend. Peace out!

Peanut Butter Jelly Time!!

You know back in the day when you were just a little kid lovin' the outdoors?
Well that was me. Always wanting to go outside and kick it with my friends. Peanut butter sandwiches and capri-sun big pouches always made my afternoon. Except for this one dreadful day that I was betrayed by that beloved peanut butter sandwich. It all started one day when I was around 6-7 yrs old. I thought I was extra hungry so I decided to make an extra peanut butter sandwhich to eat. When I was just about ready to start chewin' on my second sandwhich I noticed it was getting dark out and that would mean I wouldn't be able to go play outside. I attempted to quickly devour the sandwhich but my stomach just wouldn't budge. So i though ditch the sandwhich and go play. As I was headed to the door my dad noticed me and asked where i was going. I replied,"to go play at the big park." He was just about to let me go until he glanced over to the table and saw the uneaten sandwhich. He then told me that i couldn't play outside until i finished my sandwich. I tried and tried to finish it quickly but the darn sandwhich kept sticking to the roof of my mouth. Ages later, i finally finished my sandwhich, but there's another problem, it was already getting dark, and that means i couldn't go outside. I was so fustrated that the sandwhich took so long to eat. And that my friends is the reason why I dislike peanut butter.

G-G-Graphics

Okay, in my previous blog I forgot to mention that I just recently got into making layouts, page graphics and photo editing, so I'll dish all 'bout that in this blog. I started the whole thing when I would constantly be looking for a new Myspace layout, because someone else had the one I currently had on my profile. I like being unique so I decide to make my own. I like making them because I feel as if though I'm expressing myself more that way, and it's really fun working with the colors and designs or whatnot. So to the point here a picture that i did once. This is a picture that I made of the Main places that I'd like to visit in the future. New York,Hollywood,Paris, and the bahamas.

Hey Martha! Introduce yourself.

Yo!For my first blog ever,! I thought I'd start off by simply introducing myself. For starters, the name I go by is Martha. I was born in Kenya, so not only was I born out of state, I was born out of country and I'm bilingual. I speak English and Nuer. A little Spanish but I cant speak it fluently so I'm not quite yet trilingual. I moved to America in 1994 when I was about a year old,but I'll stop there because that story calls for a follow-up blog.. Anyway, I reside in Minnesota. Moved here when I was around nine, so that was 2003-ish? Yeah something like that. My family just recently consisted of 9 members. My mom had my new baby brother on 09/10/08, so only a few days ago. I have 6 siblings, ranging from ages 18-4days old, and then my mom and my dad.
I go to A.L.H.S, and I just started my sophomore year of high school. Its pretty fun so far, because I'm actually doing other things besides the basics. For instance, I joined volleyball, and I'm taking a journalistic writing class. Yeah it kinda rocks! My interest are Writing, singing, dancing, reading, designing and "oh snap" I almost forgot, blogging. You can say that when I talk I tend to "jump-around." Not in the literally form, but you know what I mean. I'm really energetic at times and then sometimes i just like to chill out and let the bass drop, or in other terms for the people who don't really understand this type of terminology, I mean i can be really talkative at times and then I can be really quiet and all you hear is the music from my stereo, only not really Because you also hear me singing loudly too. Haha, but to wrap this up I'll end it with just saying that I'm a really nice and laid back person, with a really outgoing personality. Get to know me. Peace!
